Case Studies — Millennial Media

Millennial Media

"We've had fantastic success with Speakeasy Hosted Voice in terms of cost savings and customer support, but the best thing is the advanced features. Features like Find Me/Follow Me, Auto Attendant, and extension dialing between locations are completely transparent to callers, while making our employees more accessible and efficient."

— Ian Mahaney, Director of Technical Services

Company Background

Millennial Media is the leading U.S. mobile advertising networks company, delivering billions of monthly ad impressions to mobile phones around the globe. The company has about 40 employees in Baltimore and a sales office in New York City. When they moved to a new office space, Millennial Media needed a phone solution that was affordable and easy to implement, with as little management overhead as possible.

Overview

  • Challenge
With their IT director focused on other mission-critical tasks, Millennial was reluctant to take on the responsibility of an on-site PBX system. In the competitive advertising business, Millennial was looking for a feature-rich phone system with minimal capital expense.
  • Solution
Speakeasy's Hosted Voice system is easy to implement and manage because all the functionality is hosted on Speakeasy's nationwide multi-redundant network. Because Speakeasy is a hosted solution, capital expense is limited to phones and voice gateway equipment - offering an enormous savings on long distance. Plus, with Find Me/Follow Me, one number can reach a salesperson at home, in the office, or on a cell phone. With Remote Office, users on the go can make calls that appear to come from their office desk phones.
  • Results
Millennial's IT director can now configure users and features from any location through an intuitive web portal. Plus, Millennial spends about 50% less month to month. In addition to improving individual accessibility, Speakeasy features keep Millennial Media's Baltimore and New York offices connected with one auto attendant, direct extension dialing, and functional hunt groups with simultaneous ring.
